Blogging and Its Importance in Communication

Date Added: April 27, 2011 01:40:36 PM  |  Author: URLBrowse Directory  |  Category: Blogs

The one aspect which brings any business as a solid foundation is the strong client base and the sense of communication between the business and client. Businesses have started experimenting with blogging and many of them like the fact that it builds some trust within the industry. Blogs can be used for personal uses, business uses or just to provide information. You can present yourself as an expert on a niche, and you can provide the general public with quality information. Once people start noticing that you are well educated in that topic, they will be more likely to consider you as an experience blogger on that niche. Some blogs only focus on opinions and rants, while others are more family friendly and try to include the reader’s opinions and thoughts. The major concept behind blogging is the communication between two different parties, the reader and writer.

Long before blogging started, there were different forms of communication over the internet. In general, there are three types of communications; individual to individual, individual to a group and group to group. Today, all three types of communication can be experimented with a blog. However, before the blogging phenomenon, there was very limited amount of communication which tool place between two parties. Some of the types of internet communication methods that blogging has taken over are;

1. Email: With the use of a web based page and software; you can send and receive emails from someone. There are paid services and free services, but the later is more popular within this society.

2. Websites: A website is just a page with images and/or content. Communication between two people is very limited from a website, but there are email forms that are embedded into websites.

3. Forums/Guestbook’s: Forums, also known as message boards are a great way of communication within a community. You are able to communicate with many people, but once again it is limited. Only members of that particular board will be able to see and comment on what you write. Blogs are a step ahead, and the provide communication to all the internet users.

As you can see, these types of communication methods are still in use, but blogs have further enhanced this whole process. Internet users prefer to use blogs than websites and message boards. If you use email marketing as a tactic for your business, you can simply redirect them to your blog. By using your blog, you are not only targeting your "e-mail based members", but also various other people. It broadens your audience and provides for an increase in potential profits. A couple of years ago, a lock producing company had one of its locks unlocked by a pen. The video had been put on the internet and it spread quite rapidly. At that time, the company only had a website for itself. The video soon caught the attention of the media and it aired in national television. The company clients had emailed the company, but it was late to answer the emails. If the company had created a blog, it could have stopped this issue from getting larger.
